As the primary therapist at Samsara, Angela brings years of diverse experience in the mental health field. Today her work focuses on treating trauma related disorders and teaching nervous system regulation skills. Angela has experience providing special-needs education and conducting humanitarian work in China, counseling special populations in Haiti and Kenya, and aiding in the establishment of orphanages, medical centers, and food programs in North Korea. Her journey in mental health therapy also includes serving as a court-appointed special advocate for children suffering from abuse or neglect in the Smoky Mountains, working as an educational coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club in Appalachian east Tennessee, and providing medical administration for DOCS military healthcare providers. She has experience as an early intervention services intern, a mental health intern in inner-city Philadelphia, and as an integrative clinical mental health provider for populations in rural and suburban Kentucky. Angela is a licensed professional counseling associate, a registered yoga teacher, and a certified somatic healing practitioner. As the daughter of a retired combat veteran and the first-generation daughter of an immigrant, she brings unique experience, knowledge, care, and passion to the treatment of trauma through integrative approaches and a commitment to holistic wellness.
